Barbara Michaels -Georgetown Series

January 13, 2023 – I finished rereading this favorite gothic yesterday. It was an annual reread when I was a teenager. Some dated stuff but still one of the best for actual gothic horror and real supernatural baddies. I have always loved the Georgetown series and now I live really close to DC so it’s got a familiar vibe. The house on the cover is a very similar type to the one I live in now! The cover is one of the more accurate ones, Sara in her old fashioned nightgowns and long black hair with white all around her eyes looking completely other.

January 27, 2023 – Georgetown 2 – Let’s take a peek shall we? This cover is more of a nod to something mentioned, and an interesting interpretation of something that happens. Also Shattered Silk is not knife stabbed cotton. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Still it’s fun, love it.
I really want to know what this 93 year old woman’s vulgar top says!
A Fredricksburg mention!

January 31, 2023 – Georgetown no. 3. Not actually set in Georgetown, but had characters from the first two! Very cozy.
Oh good, they explain why Karen/Kara changed her name between Shattered Silk and Stitches In Time.

Ammie, Come Home has an entry in Gothic Novels of the Twentieth Century. My favorite part: Tops in every respect.
April 8, 2024 – My mom picked me up the Blu-ray of The House That Would Not Die , the 1970 TV movie adaptation of one of our favorite gothics, Ammie, Come Home!
